In August some of our scouts went on a back packing trip and tried to reach the Summit of Mt. Belford. Some of the more experienced scouts reached the summit of both Belford, and Mt. Oxford via a Saddle Back path. The younger scouts didn’t quite make it to the top of Belford but they came close. The younger scouts camped on the climb due to a later start because of heavy highway traffic. The more senior scouts camped the first night at a camp site where there was an old miner’s cabin. The scenery was beautiful and the scouts had a great time.
