Our troop recently took a three day scuba diving trip to Blue Hole and Perch Lake, New Mexico. Everyone on the trip who went to get certified was able to get certified, and that has never happened on the first try in our troop.
Blue Hole is an 82 foot deep diving area fed by an underground river that keeps it at a steady 61 degrees. Since there are few fish, people put interesting toys and objects in it to make it more appealing. When we dove, we saw such things as toy motorcycles, a toy radio, and a cow skull.
Perch Lake is about a mile away from Blue Hole. It is a shallow lake that offers a huge tourist attraction. When we dove it, we saw a sunk plane, and felt a sunk jeep.
