From June 2-4, out troop went up to Buena Vista for the annual family White Water Rafting trip. Along with the amazing rafting experience, we also had fun at the campground, playing games around the campfire and hanging out by the river.

Placing Flags at Ft. Logan National Cemetery
For Memorial Day, our troop went to Fort Logan National Cemetery to place flags at the graves of all the veterans buried there. It was a really great project because we had a ton of fun and got to show respect to the people who have served our country.
Sam O’s Eagle Project
On May 20, 2017, Sam O. had his Eagle Scout Project. For his project, he built a fence around the garden at Saddle Ranch Elementary School. The people who went helped put posts into the ground and attach the fence and gate to the posts. Here are a few photos of the coolest parts of the project.
Camp Alexander 2017
From the weekend of 4/7-4/9, a massive group of scouts went to Camp Alexander. The new scouts sure had a good time on their first camp out doing things like their Fireman Chit and Totin Chip. Scouts also went fishing, hiking, orienteering, and hung out in their cabins.
December Court of Honor – 12/12/16
In December, one of our troop’s three yearly Court of Honors were held. Numerous scouts advanced in rank and many more got merit badges to add to their sash.
Camping at Bear Creek Lake
In December, many scouts went on the camp out to Bear Creek Lake Park. While they were there, they did many fun things like cooking, hiking, and even slack lining. There was also an amazing campfire full of entertaining stories.
2017 Troop 873 Open House
In November, there was our troop’s annual open house for the incoming scouts. We had tons of cool things like First Aid, Knot Tying, Donuts, Camping, and Scuba Diving. I think that the entire event was a blast for everybody.
Veteran’s Day Ceremony
On Veteran’s Day, a number of scouts from our troop attended a ceremony which honored the people who have served our country. It was a really fun event.
2016 Sand Dunes Trip
In September 2016, a group of scouts went to Great Sand Dunes National Park. While they were there, they sand sledded, hiked through the dunes, and had a great camping experience. A group of scouts also went to the nearby Colorado Gator Farm and held a real alligator.
